It's Said Many Times Many Ways . . .

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you!.

Well Christmas was a little different this year (in Powell River - on the sunshine coast) not that I didn't love it. No Christmas tree, no fattening turkey dinner (as we are all vegetarians)

I got to sleep in this morning FINALLY. Woke up handed out gifts had a lovely pancake breakfast then we took at walk along the lake and I brought my trusty new camera along and got some pretty awesome shots.

OH OH It was foggy which to me is almost as good as snow! I love the fog and the way it looks on top of water . . . just amazing.

A random dock in the middle of the lake. It was simple and I felt like i needed a picture of it.

The trail.

Houses on the other side of the lake.

The day ended with a nice bowl of chili, listening to the relaxing music of Michael Buble and Oscar Peterson (both of which were on repeat) watching a little tv The Beatles On Record, Merry Christmas Mr. Bean and laughing at Frasier.

good day, good day.

have yourself a merry little christmas.

Merry Christmas Eve!
In the last couple days, I've been crafting like crazy--the two scarves I finished were just the beginning of craft-mania! I wanted to hold off for a while so Jen's post could be the first one for a while, but I was too excited about all the stuff I've made.

My friend wanted some new wall art so we went to the dollar store to peruse. We bought some frames and some stock paper. Then we cut out the silhouettes! Super easy and super cute! New wall art, voila!
She loves yoga, so we found some great yoga poses:
Aren't they adorable!?

This is Feist's The Reminder's album cover art--simplified. This one might be my favourite. The silhouettes makes me want to do it with people i know--I think it could work really really well, and just work off pictures of people's profiles... like i need another craft idea.

This is the hat I was working on-- my next task is learning how to knit in a round.

I also knit coffee cup sleeves: environmentally friendly and SUPER cute. I screwed up though and didn't measure, hence the felt square connecting the ends... my next one will be better.

Oh and PS, she loved her circle scarf/neck tube/infinity scarf.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

Ok ok . . .

So TECHNICALLY my post for this week is our banner. . . but we gotta somehow get "Can't Stop, Craft Till We Drop" at the bottom OR i may have to . . . uh glue the words on or . . . hmmm i'll figure it out I have 2 weeks of now work and relaxation. YAY! and i was complaining about having nothing to do. I will find something. Can we just take the time to appreciate that i will have two weeks worth of days to sleep in!

Speed Knitter

Scarves completed out of 4: 2

It seems that I do my best knitting in the middle of the night.
This is scarf numero dos, although it's not so much of a scarf as a neck tube. The ends are stitched together and wrapped around my head twice because it's HUGE.
I am doing my gift exchange TOMORROW, talk about leaving it to the last minute.

Halfway there!

Progress!

Scarves Completed Out of 4: 1!!!!!!!!!

So stoked on life. This scarf took me far too long to complete, but I'm finally done! Only three more to go.

Today, I bought the tools and a book to crochet.
Because I need another craft to start.
Biggest lie of my life.
Three scarves, six knitted coffee cup sleeves, one toque, about 15 more magnets, and a felt doll to go....

Oh the stupid things we say!

So I'm sitting here watching a Fred Astaire movie (part of a box set my sister gave me for christmas) we've exchanged gifts today and I made a little book for Julz of all the stupid things the four of us say (well i couldn't think of all of them so there's room to fill in) and there are a lot of stupid ridiculous things we say.

It was also time that i posted something for this week. I feel like i should post something else too and I just might . . . soon enough soon enough

Bottlecap Magnets

Scarves Completed out of 4: o
...I've been productive, but it doesn't really show...

So, for this post, I thought I would display another thing that I'm making for everyone for Christmas this year-- bottlecap magnets!

I've been collecting bottle caps for months and months and months and have been testing a number of different techniques to perfect it.
Originally, I was just eyeballing the circles with scissors. It didn't always work.
But I discovered this amazing hole punch that makes everything so much easier.

I love it. No, really, I love it.
I am aware how much of a nerd this makes me.

Knitting up a storm.

While, like Jen, I do have mini books on the go (a December Daily and a goal book for this year), those projects are sitting on the sidelines right now as I am currently in the oh-my-god-there's-only-fifteen-days-till-Christmas-I-have-to-get-four-scarves-done-crap-crap-crap! Stage.

I always get to this stage around Christmas, after promising knitwear to too many people. I tried to be organized this year, I started these scarves in November. Tried being the operative word.

I have these three on the go, and another waiting to be started... in short, I'm screwed.

Earning her knitting callouses one stitch at a time,
Julz

Food For Thought

So I figured if I am going to start eating right and better I would have to have a collection of recipes so 1) i don't get bored of cooking the same thing 2) I don't buy the "wrong" food spontaneously because of not making a shopping list and 3) it meant ANOTHER CRAFT PROJECT!! which i could NOT pass up.
So here it is. I wanted to go for a vintage feel . . . i guess. the paper is a little vintage-ish

Here's the inside which consists of categories: Soups, Salads, Snacks, Entrees, Drinks and Desserts (gotta have desserts)
It's full of brown paper that I got from work (We work at a bakery)
Now it's just a matter of filling it up with recipes. I'm going through healthy cookbooks, vegetarian cookbooks, magazines anything. I am really quite pleased with it.

I'm soo psyched!

Though my first post is not as festive as Ms. Juliana I decided to show off my 2010 book that I am really quite proud of if i do say so myself.
Ok ok so here's the deal i made 10 REASONABLE goals for myself and i intend to follow them. so what am i psyched about? all of 2010 . . . no really.
ok . . . that's about it for my first blog/art post. . . i gotta say i'm lamely (lamely? no ugh not the right word . . . ok i can't think of the right word right now) excited and ecstatic on us starting this blog. . . i'm going now and i'm gone

Snowing.

We live in Vancouver, where getting snow is a wish on everyone's Christmas wishlist. (and then once we get snow, the whole city shuts down and everyone bitches and moans about it) I have only ever had one white Christmas, so snow is still a little bit of a novelty for me.

Anyway, my windows were looking a little bit drab & mid-winter gloomy:

But I fixed that after some quick craftiness:

Now every time I look out my window, it's snowing!

Let the Crafting Begin!

Jen and Julz, two devastingly gorgeous and hugely charming young ladies have a serious problem with crafting.
They can't stop.
So, they decided that the only logical solution was to create a blog in which to showcase their amazing craftiness. And maybe learn to be modest.

They have devised a plan to prevent a blog that lies dormant for many many months:
1) Post at least once a week.
2) Crafts do not need to be new upon posting.
3) Craft 'till you drop.

Let the crafting begin!
Love, Julz and Jen
