When at first you don't succeed try try again

All week we planned on making soup for friday night (yeah, that's right, we're a couple of party animals who really know how to have a crazy night). Being so excited about making soup on a friday night earned us endless, merciless teasing from co-workers and friends. We were convinced that not only would the soup be fun to make, but it would be delicious.
We were wrong on both counts.

This is what it was suppose to look like:

Prep is key.
It wasn't looking too bad.

But it went sooooo wrong. The problem? tooo much cilantro (which Jen now HATES) and too much paprika that made it unbearable to eat.
It didn't look anything like the picture! oh well we added veggie meat to see if that would make it better. IT LOOKED LIKE CHILI! We tried to eat it but ended up flushing it. It was sad . . .

Soup attempt #2
We decided that since our first attempt ended in such a resounding FAIL, we decided we would try again on Saturday night.
This time it was Austrian Garlic soup.

Julz was in tears for this portion of the evening.

Saturday's soup was more of a success, it tasted like garlic bread in a bowl. I don't know why this is underlined. Next time we might add potatoes.
