but it turned out pretty nice in the end just like the weather men . . . uh people predicted.
So today is yes yes Manic monday I decided to wear something that I did a t-shirt recon of (that didn't make sense) in high school. It was once an extra large vancouver art gallery tee then it became this
I wore a red cardigan with it cuz there's a bit of red in it.
and thats all folks. I'm sorry I don't have as much to say as my fellow blogger :P

The Greatest
...is the name of a movie I thought I'd like but then was actually particularly boring
You wanna know what's the greatest?
-When your local Blockbuster is moving to a new location so they put everything in the store on super fantastic amazing sale and you walk away with six (yes, six) movies as well as a season of the Tudors. (which you've never watched, but heard mixed reviews about) for $9.75! Yeah, you read that right, it was a pretty fantastical find.
-When the liquor store is giving away cute little bottles of rum and vodka.
-When you walk into the Value Village in search of ONE COSTUME for an all night business attired dance party in the streets of your town and you hit the jackpot and leave the store with TWO WHOLE OUTFITS plus your costume, plus another tanktop.
So excited to wear this dress and jean jacket!
Only things I owned prior were the belt and wedges!
My costume- it looks like a suit, jacket and skirt combo but its actually a ONE PIECE.
-Trying on ugly things you know won't fit just for fun.
-The church two buildings down from my house is having a free sale tomorrow and had a plant sale a couple weeks ago. I tell ya, location location location
-The fact that I just started writing my paper yesterday, just getting ideas down and stuff, and already have 600/1000 words needed
-My bike. Seriously. I can't get enough.
On the docket for this weekend-
-Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings show
-Possibly a Harper's Island marathon with a Harper's Island diehard fan
-Planting my oregeno, basil and sweet pepper seeds
-house hunting
-free sale
-Make more friendship bracelets
-Week three of the Photobooth project!

What I Wore Wednesday: I Hate Rain.
So, I have a secret to tell you.
Every night before I got to sleep, I plan out what I'm going to wear the next day. I don't know why, it's just what I do. So, I had a very adorable outfit planned out for today, working around the idea that it would be sunny like it was yesterday. I woke up a little on the late side and when I looked out the window, it became very clear that the sandals I was planning were just not an option. Because I had already slept in and was unimpressed with the rain I threw something pretty basic together. So, I had to dig out my winter coat which I had prematurely thrown to the back of my closet already. This is my unimpressed face.
I tried to take an outfit picture before I went to school when it was already drizzling a little bit. It was super bright out and so the quality of these pictures are awful. I thought it might get warmer by the time I got home from school and I'd be able to take more, better pictures then.
It didn't get nicer.
Look at this! This was yesterday. Why do I live in such a bipolar weather city?! I can't handle this. It needs to be summer and I need to retire my fur-lined hood winter jacket for good.

Tuesday's Threads
So, in a complete act of confusion, I thought today was Wednesday, except I knew it wasn't because I knew I didn't have class until 2:30, and on Wednesdays I have class at 10:30. Yeah, I somehow got everything very tangled up in my head and took pictures of my outfit today and decided to regale you all with a very special TUESDAY'S THREADS!
Basically, What I Wore Wednesdays, but with T's and on a Tuesday.
Yes, you can expect a regular What I Wore Wednesday tomorrow-- I'm just crazy.

Flats- thrifted
Shorts- flea market in Berlin
Belt- thrifted
tank-H&M sale rack
overshirt-thrifted
compass necklace- last week's vintage fair (Victoria)

I Just Finished My Paper
I did it. i finished my paper just now, three days before the due date. This means I can put it down, do something else, and still have three days to edit it to perfection.
I pretty much feel like this right now:
I know I should probably photo credit this picture, but I dragged it off reddit one hundred thousand years ago, so I really have no idea. Let's just say I got it from the viral internet pictures gallery C:

15 Weeks of Photobooth: a project
Because this summer is pretty much a 0 on the excitement scale, I have come up with a project to make it ever so slightly more interesting.
There is one rule for my project: Every week, for the fifteen weeks of summer, I must get a strip of photos at a photobooth. If I'd like, I can get multiple strips of photos, there just has to be ONE. I can take my pictures on my own, with people, with stuff, with people and stuff, whatever. I have pages in an art journal (more to share on that later...) reserved just for my photobooth project and will therefore encourage me to scrapbook a little bit too. I miss scrapbooking like I used to, so I thought just a taste of it would be nice.
Anyway, here's week 1:
And Week 2:
It's a simple enough project, but I think I'll end up getting pretty creative with the pictures I take by the end of it!

Be a Tourist in Your Own Town.
On Friday, my friend Kelsey and I decided to do a touristy day in Victoria because I have lived in this city for nine months now and have managed to completely avoid all the big tourist-y hotspots in the city. School has just kept me too busy! Although pretty much everyone made fun of me for going to all the places that parents drag their kids to on family outings, I was super excited.
Our first stop was Craigdarroch Castle.
Isn't it lovely? It's pretty much been everything: from a family home, to a military hospital, to a music conservatory and finally, the original campus of the university I now attend! Wouldn't it have been awesome to go to school in this castle? Kelsey and I wandered around the castle, and discussed the interior decorating decisions we would have made if it were our house. Haha.
What I wore Friday, haha.
Next, we were off to the Parliament buildings! They give free guided tours at intervals throughout the day, but unfortunately, we arrived just between two tours. The other option is just to wander around on your own, so we did! Neither of us being political science majors/buffs, made this visit a bit of a quick wander through...
But look! Laws are made here!
Next, we walked up to the Emily Carr House. It was a tiny, cosy little house. Being the antique/old stuff junky that I am, I really enjoyed looking at all the delicately painted teacups, and extravagant furniture in the house. Here's me in front of the house!
We ended the day at Beacon Hill Park, which I had also never visited- saw peacocks and herons and two birds viciously attacking each other.
It was a great day. I have a bunch more touristy locations to visit still, but I completed a good selection of my list on Friday. I can't wait to do more on my list!

The Perfect Dinner for a Rapture Survivor
Well, if you're reading this, I assume you made it through today's rapture. Yaay. I spent today writing my paper, which I suppose if it had been rapture day would be particularly representative of my life as of late. My paper is on Queen Victoria, fitting for the Victoria Day long weekend! I'm really enjoying writing it- I love royalty! I think I would have loved to live in that era- minus the lack of hygienic practices, female oppression and, well, Google.
To celebrate my survival of this day, I made Tofu Wings on rice for dinner. [I followed this recipe exactly with the exception of the microwaving at the end.] It was quite delectable. I am pretty much a pro at frying tofu these days.
I am awful persnickety about drying out my tofu before frying it out.
I have a thousand and three blog ideas bouncing around my head right now. Come back soon and check them out! Until then, happy long weekend, Canadians! Do something fun- I will be essay-writing!

What I Wore Wednesday: Adventure Boots Parte Deux
Hello again!
I'm back in Victoria and already getting my butt kicked in school- apparently easing into summer semester is not something that happens -- and on day three, I am already drowning under piles and piles of assignments. But, because I'm a keener, I'm already a little bit a head of schedule in one class! Yes, I am a nerd.
Anyway, this is what I wore today, nothing too exciting really. Brought out my adventure boots again, because tonight I might be going on the Victoria Ghost Tour with a friend and I figured some kick ass boots would be perfect to "kick his ask" [if that typo doesn't make sense to you, click HERE]
Here's hoping I don't end up haunted!

Pants- thrifted
Tank-H&M

Happy Mother's Day!
Today, for mother's day, my mother and two grandmothers went out for afternoon tea at a heritage site outside of the city. Having tea in the oldest house in the town was an absolutely lovely way to spend my day and the tea was fantastic! (So fantastic, in fact, that I bought some for myself on the way out...)
Everything was so scrumptious and adorable!
Myself and my grandmothers at tea.
My Mom and my grandmothers prior to the tea.
Happy happy mother's day, Mom. Hope you had a great day. I'm so glad you're my Mama. <3

What I Wore Wednesday
I love summer.
I love bare legs.
I love sandals.
As soon as I get even a glimpse of the sun, I whip out my flippy-floppys and I lose the tights.
Even if that means shivering in the shade allll day long.
This is what I wore today-- for a day of shopping and eating sushi with my bestie. Throw some sunshine on top and it was pretty darn near perfect.
Next Wednesday, I'll be back in Victoria, so back to regular backdrops!
{Dress- thrifted
Belt-thrifted
Jacket- Gentle Fawn factory sale}
