What I Wore Wednesday: And then a Truck Backed in Front of me.

So, I recently found this awesome purple brick wall in an alley in downtown Victoria. I deemed it perfect for what I wore Wednesday pictures, especially since there is a gate on the opposite wall in which I can rest my camera for self timer shots. PERFECT. I did not, however, factor in the possibility that this alley might get used, like, ever.

I think the title of the post explains what happens best. I was posing, as you do WHEN A TRUCK BACKED INTO THE ALLEY FROM THE STREET. Luckily, I was against the wall and since the truck was backing in from a busy road it was super slow and I was never in any danger. But after that it wasn't like I really wanted to continue my photoshoot.

This is the only picture I got of my outfit.

Today, I had one of those days when nothing really worked out, so I have retreated into the confines of my home to finish up packing up my entire life and cleaning my house so I can get my damage deposit back! Hope you had a splendid Wednesday!

Tuesday's Threads Parte Deux

To make up for my late What I wore Wednesday, here's what I wore last Tuesday as well!
I wore this on a trip to Value Village. A dud of a trip, and for the first time in nine months, I walked out of the story without a single purchase! Sad!

Outfit details:
Top: Prague H&M
shorts: Berlin flea market
sandals: American Eagle, circa 2008

15 Weeks of Photobooth: Week 6

This is from my really fun five day visit to Vancouver! There are four people in these pictures, but you can't really see everyone. I have already packed up most of my scrapbooking stuff so this entry is more of a journal than anything else.

What I Wore Wednesday: Better Late than Never

So, last week was a bit ridiculous. My laptop and cell phone simultaneously broke down on me. It was a little insane. I took my laptop in to get fixed and the technician told me he would call me to let me know when it was fixed. I told him my phone wasn't working and he'd have to email me, even though he had my laptop and I had no way of accessing my email- yeah, it was a vicious cycle.
SO, now I have my laptop back and I don't have to run up to campus every time I need to use the internet. I did take pictures of my outfit last Wednesday- luckily, my camera didn't crap out on me- so without further ado, WHAT I WORE (LAST) WEDNESDAY:

Outfit Details:
Jean jacket- thrifted
Dress- Berlin flea market
Belt- thrifted
Wedges- Payless

15 Weeks of Photobooth: Week 5

Photobooth scrapbook page featuring.... Esther!
These pictures are from the weekend when she came to visit! Apparently, I'll never have photobooth pictures by myself, not that I'm complaining or anything!

PLANT WATCH 2011

After a loooong hiatus- here it is PLANT WATCH 2011!
Haha, and now, after that incredibly epic introduction, I have nothing to say.

Yeah, so uh, my plants are growing. It's rather exciting.

The evidence:

The evidence a few days later from a slightly different angle:

New Place . . .

So I just got from seeing Friends With Benefits (which once again proves that THAT DOESNT WORK . . .fuck my dreams are shattered) lets just say Justin Timberlake is my all time MAJOR celebrity crush who I will marry eventually once I get my foot in that industry's door. Mila Kunis is GORGEOUS.

Anywho that is not the reason for the post. It is MANIC MONDAY YAY YAY YAY.

Its not that exciting what is MORE exciting is that I'VE MOVED!!!! New place in a Vancouver special it's awesome. White walls EVERYWHERE just waiting for my artistic mind to create something amazing . . . I got nothing so far . . . but things are definitely looking up I have yet to unpack BUT i have thursday, friday, saturday AND sunday WHOOO but I get paid for the friday holiday so its like I only take one day off this week WHOOO (oh Jen stop being a whoo girl). Bring on the yoga, unpacking, yoga, yoga and july is the start of being healthy again. DAMN playoffs! also I didn't want to cook anything at the other house cause of the ants . . UGH. Now that along with the running children above my head have CEASED thank you Beatles (they are my God - that was lame . . . shut up)

SOOOO excited for my new place and the endless possibilities of artistry. Can't repeat that enough.

ALSO ALSO now that the damn postal strike is over and DONE WITH I should get my LONGBOARD SOON!!!

I'm out! I gotta shower and get ready for bed. . .

final thought Friends With Benefits played two songs that reminded me of my childhood . . .Semisonic's Closing Time and Kriss Kross' Jump

I have an incredible pain in my right hand so I'm gonna go

My Manic Monday: Plain Jane but Life is Good

So I set my alarm for 5am but I woke up at 4:22 and I thought to myself "what a wonderful world" no just kidding. I thought, there's no point in going back to bed so I got up.

The past few weeks I've been stressing out about a few things but now all these things have come together and life be good (bad grammar on purpose Julzy)
1. me and my sister found a place to life for july we can even move in BEFORE hand. Got the keys yesterday.
2. Hockey playoffs are over even though the end results were not very satisfying . . . yes I cried. I cried like a little girl and I'm not a ashamed.
3. MY LONGBOARD is on it's way . . . I've always wanted to longboard but I'm finally doing something about that
4. Certain situations that were troubling me I've worked out by asking questions though I did do something pretty stupid last night that is sorta making me paranoid which there is probably no need for.
5. . . is there a 5? I don' think so . . .
I didn't feel like being all dressy (not that I usually am) or cute plus most of my nicer things are packed away already.
This is my sisters Hey Rosetta tee she didn't want so she gave it to me :) There's no point in showing the bottom half of me cause you already know what I'm wearing down there . . . leggings.

What else is new? hmmm saw X-Men First Class yesterday with my sister. SO GOOD made up for the fuck up they made of X-Men the last stand and the Wolverine movie. ALSO James McAvoy is a babe!
That's the most I've written in a while. Ok I'm off to work now!

What I Wore Wednesday: Going Home

I'm coming home. The Canucks better win for my homecoming.

EDIT: Shortly after posting this outfit, I changed the shirt to a black V-neck, added my jean jacket and threw on wedges for a slightly different feel.(The feel being that the wedges didn't fit in my travel bag for today and I knew I would need them over the weekend. Ha!) I will see if I can wrangle a picture of the outfit change, however, this might be all you get. I felt the need to be honest on the outfit change in the interest of journalistic integrity and all. Don't want to get sued for publishing lies :)

15 Weeks of Photobooth: Week 4

This is my week four of 15 Weeks of Photobooth, but it was kind of a fail. The TWO photobooths in this city were Out Of Order!

I thought about taking pictures on my PhotoBooth app on my computer, but I don't have picture printing paper, so the quality would be pretty crappy, so I decided a plain and simple layout would work best.

Hopefully, this isn't a problem next week!

What I Wore Wednesday: Stanley Cup Fever

So, today is game four of the Stanley Cup finals and although I don't have any official Canucks paraphernalia, I thought I'd try my hand at dressing the part of dedicated fan. So, I'm wearing the team's colours today in hopes that I can provide them with a little luck and not a repeat from last game.I know the blue isn't quite right, but it's really the closest I had. I think the sentiment still applies, navy blue or royal blue- go boys go!

I was quite dedicated to this attempt, blue belt and all. You probably don't need to know this, but I even made sure I was wearing my green undies too! ;)

A List a Mile Long

Hello blogosphere!
It's been a busy couple days (with no end to the busyness in sight!) I went on a spontaneous trip home for four days and had a really good time. Because it was spontaneous, I didn't really tell anyone I was around and got to spend some time visiting with family and hanging out with my parents. And, of course, being downtown for the hockey game. Big events like these are what makes me love my city- they had a big screen set up (with sound!) so everyone could watch the game. Everyone sat down pretty neatly and stood up to cheer and celebrate when the 'Nucks scored.... and within five minutes were sitting down again so not to block anyone's view. So Canadian <3
Before I left, I planted some household herbs for my kitchen...

And by the time I got back, things were already growing!

I was SO excited. A part of me was worried that I had somehow screwed up the planting process (I killed a cactus once and that experience has made me wary ever since...) but its working! It's really working! Well, the oregano and basil are. No word on the sweet peppers yet- but hey, its only day 5! I think I'm going to keep a bit of a log of my planting process in a segment I shall call PLANT WATCH 2011. Doesn't that just make it sound so much more interesting!? Ha, I think so.

in much more serious news, I'm in the process of finding a new place to live for July and it isn't going so well. It's just been dud after dud after dud. This discouraging trend, however, hasn't curbed my enthusiasm for packing and even though I have 2 and a half weeks before I actually need to "vacant the premises" I am getting a jump start on packing the non-essentials. You know, the books I couldn't sell from last semester, movies I won't watch/or if I have a hankering to watch can stream online. I like packing so much that I am a little bit concerned that I'm going to overpack and live in an empty room for the 2 weeks before I leave. Eek! Such strange problems I have.

I also picked my schedule for MY VERY LAST YEAR OF MY UNDERGRAD. And I am super excited about all the classes I picked. i register on the 24th of June. :)

That, and I am actually still enrolled in classes and need to be reading right now!
See you tomorrow!

Once in a lifetime

So the last time the Canucks made it to the stanley cup finally i believe i was 7 and didn't really care well i don't even remember it but now . . . oh my god is all I can say. It's actually screwing up my work out schedule cause I cannot miss a game. ALSO tonight's game determines whether or no I go visit Julz in Victoria. I do NOT want to be in Victoria for the cup game I am gonna be down town vancouver soaking in the glory with all the other vancouverites. I'm so pumped for tonight's game. Game number 3! n honor of tonight's game AND manic monday which I almost forgot about . . . . i wear this

fingers crossed!

What I Wore Wednesday: The Hippie in Me

Ah! I literally do not have time to be making this post. I should have left to met up with people... ten minutes ago! Eek! Well, I took some pictures of my outfit this morning (also running late, so framing is a bit shit) and I only just looked at them now, and most of them are preettty blurry of my actual outfit- the only ones that came out clear were the goofy poses! Ahhhh!

Gotta go. It's hockey time.

Jean Jacket-thrifted
tiedye shirt/dress- Buffalo Exchange
tights- garage
faux Keds- Urban Planet

This dress always reminds me of Santorini:

What do you MEAN I can't hop on an ATV and just drive around with my bestie and a group of new found friends all day in the sun, ending at a beach? Why CANT I? If anyone knows how to clone the perfect day and let me relieve it, I have a list a mile long of days just like that one for you!
